Serena & Lily Playroom Seating

I'm enthralled with the new collection of bright and colorful playroom seating options from Serena and Lily.  The cubes remind me of my first playroom. Situated at the top of our house in London, my mother filled it with enormous colorful pillows in fabulous patterns and colors from Habitat. The pillows came in handy when my best friend Sarah and I would build out of them, hide from villains while watching Dr. Who, or when we would just sit next to each other drawing.

It is important to remember that playrooms are a child's refuge from the world, a place to unleash their imaginations. A colorful playroom creates a sense of color and cheerfulness and seating is of key importance. Chairs, like those above, can be used as building blocks when your child is small, and can become a great place for them to homework, as they grow. Here are three great seating options.

1) The Moroccan Leather Pouf-  This pouf would be perfect as a footstool or extra seating  in any room of the house, from the living room to the playroom.  I'm crazy about Moroccan style at the moment, and this piece, which comes in a variety of colors has a style that will grow with your child.  Handmade by artisans in Morocco the poufs are then filled with dense cotton, which takes longer to assemble but results in a substantial, sturdy construction that lasts for years to come.

2) Whipstitch Poufs - Love these. They come in some unexpected rich shades, with snug whipstiching in contrasting colors that will add a fun pop to any playroom.  I have to admit I love the fuchsia, bright and fun!

3) Havana Stools -These cheery woven stools add an extra pop of color wherever they go––indoors or out, from the playroom to the patio. A metal frame with tightly woven plastic makes them airy and fun, yet sturdy.  The plastic also means they are going to be easy to wipe down after an afternoon art session.
